New students: You will receive a Financial Aid Award Offer letter by mail, directing you to access further details in SHU Awards, the university’s online financial assistance database, and encouraging you to reach out to your Student Financial Assistance counselor to set up your SFA advising meeting.

Returning Students: You will receive an email notifying you when your Financial Aid Award Offer is posted in SHU Awards, the university’s online financial assistance database. To access your SHU Awards account, you will need your university student ID. Once set up, SHU Awards log-in information remains the same from year to year, using your 7-digit Student ID number and PIN. If you forget your PIN, click Forgot Your PIN? in the LOG IN box, and it will be emailed to you.

Students can use SHU Awards to do the following:

  • view their financial assistance awards by semester
  • accept, reduce, or decline their award(s)
  • confirm the status of financial assistance documents (received, incomplete, etc.)
  • review the financial assistance messaging relating to their award(s)
  • access your Sacred Heart University Federal Shopping Sheet – Financial Aid Disclosure to compare the estimated costs of colleges and the types and amounts of aid available (note, this is not a bill)
