Patient Care Technician

Do you want to apply your ability to care for others to a promising career in healthcare? The Patient Care Technician certificate program prepares you to become an allied healthcare worker and to support patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. While offering you the technical aspects required in the field, the program also provides you with the sound communication skills you’ll need to interact effectively with patients and their families, as well as physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers.

The role of the Patient Care Technician builds on the skills of a Certified Nurse Aide by adding responsibilities such as changing simple dressings, drawing blood and conducting electrocardiograms. Serving under the supervision of licensed personnel, Patient Care Technicians contribute to medical teams by providing selected patient care activities in a variety of healthcare settings.
